For twenty years, Jeff has been in the business of turning dreams into reality for himself, his partners and his clients. Jeff’s skills include product development and prototyping, graphic design, market testing, production setup, product placement with both specialty and mass retailers, early stage start-ups and joint ventures. He brings boundless energy and enthusiasm, leadership, vision, and spontaneity to the team. Jeff’s client list includes Fortune 500 companies Anheuser-Busch, MTV, Universal Studios, Weyerhaeuser, and Georgia-Pacific. It also includes dozens of small businesses and individuals who have come to Jeff for website development, digital and hard copy marketing materials, graphic design, trade show booth design and construction, and promotional products. In addition to his work for clients, Jeff has been a founder and principal in several successful companies including a board game company that sold thousands of pieces, an electronic toy company that did custom work for Universal Studios and Budweiser, and a lawn and garden products company whose products are now carried in over 160 Lowe’s stores nationwide. In his spare time, Jeff is a digital gadget guru and creative artist. He is a Kingsport, TN native, where his lives today with his wife and school age daughter.
Martin Doyle
Managing Director
Marty is the Managing Director of Hanover Advisors, LLC, a business consulting firm based in Hanover, New Hampshire, which provides financial, structural and legal advice to technology-based emerging companies and to established companies looking to grow. The firm specializes in structuring and negotiating patent licenses and strategic partnerships between entrepreneurial companies and Fortune 500 companies. In addition to his role as a corporate adviser, Marty is the founder and former senior executive of four start up companies that either sold or licensed their technologies to international companies. Marty began his professional career as a corporate attorney with major New York, Chicago and Miami law firms. In 1995, he left the full time practice of law and established a medical diagnostic ultrasound development company which partnered with Microsoft and Intel to create the world’s first PC-based ultrasound system. The system was selected as Partner Product of the Year in 1998 by Microsoft.
Marty writes and lectures on topics of interest to emerging companies and their owners, and serves as a member of the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network and an occasional lecturer at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business which has been rated the world’s #1 MBA program by the Wall Street Journal for the last three years. Mr. Doyle frequently mentors new companies and their founders by reviewing business plans, structuring ownership and by advising growing companies on how to raise capital and to form synergistic relationships with large domestic and foreign corporations. He regularly works with leading investment banks, private equity funds and venture capital firms in New York, Miami, San Francisco, London and Singapore. Marty has an undergradutate degree in Economics from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and a law degree from the Boston College School of Law.
Marty and Jeff met in the late 1980’s and have been business partners and friends since that time. They decided to formally pool their experience in Ideation Sandbox and to offer their skills to clients and partners.
Andrew Barnes
Creative Director
Andy is an accomplished graphic artist and designer. In 1990, Andy graduated from the American Academy of Art and Graphic Communications in Chicago, Illinois with a major in advertising design, and a double minor in graphic design and photography. He has over 20 years of experience as a creative and art director for commercial publications, newspapers and publishing companies such as McGraw-Hill, Simon & Schuster, Prentice Hall, Irwin Publishing among others. In addition, he has over 10 years experience in expo planning and staging. Andy also holds a position as adjunct professor of design at a local college and frequently speaks on design topics to regional groups. Andy’s work has appeared in many national publications, and he has won over 70 Tennessee state design awards and numerous national design awards. He and his wife reside in Kingsport, TN with their four children.
